History of Maxim Nyansa Sierra Leone
Our mission is to create career perspective for young Sierra Leoneans with the use of information technology. Our vision is to launch learning transformation and training programs in Sierra Leone to equip young people with 21st-century skills. We are an NGO specialized in education and IT. We train young IT graduates practically to prepare them for the job and we encourage schools to implement IT and 21st century skills in their curriculum and way of teaching. We offer integrated IT solutions to create career perspectives:
- Learning transformation programs for schools.
- Bootcamps for young IT graduates.
- Vocational IT training for young potentials.
In January 2021, Maxim Nyansa Foundation established its office in Sierra Leone, with Laura Joe-de Bruine and her husband, Gabriel Joe, as country directors. They travelled to the international office in Ghana to gain insights from its operations, and we successfully launched our initial project with Rising Academy Network. After Laura and Gabriel relocated to the Netherlands, Michael Jobie Musa, who was serving as the logistics manager was appointed as the new country director. We have started with the learning transformation programs and hope to soon increase our impact by adding bootcamps and international IT certification.

Michael Jobie Musa
Country Director
I was selected by Maxim Nyansa Ghana for the scholarship bootcamp program in software development in 2020. I applied for the program through their website after completing a Diploma in Information Technology and Bsc. Computer Science. I moved from Sierra Leone to Ghana in February 2020 with the help of Maxim Nyansa Foundation. After completing my training, I went back to Sierra Leone to work with the Maxim Nyansa Foundation as the logistics manager. Eventually, I was appointed to the position of country director after the departure of Gabriel and Laura.
Ibrahim Patto Conteh
Logistic Manager and ICT Trainer
While volunteering with Maxim Nyansa Sierra Leone, I was fortunate to participate in an IT vocational training focused on computer hardware repairs, which was organized by the Maxim Nyansa Foundation in Ghana in 2022. Following the training, I utilized the skills gained to further contribute to the volunteer work. I was eventually promoted to the role of logistics manager and ICT trainer.
